Drama
 

Drama is both an exploratory class and performance class. Students will learn the basics of stage performance: Observation, Concentration and Focus, Physicalization, Voice and Improvisation. Students will participate in stage, costume and make-up design. The class affords several opportunities for performance for small informal audiences and large-scale productions. A willingness to participate as well as a commitment to rehearsal schedules is essential for success in the class.


Study Support
 

Study Support is a class designed to teach students study skills and to provide assistance with academic work. Students use the time to work on class work, tests, and/or projects. Students are required to fill out and maintain an assignment sheet/planner. Students are graded on whether or no their planner is filled out and for their work performance during class time.


ICT (Information Communication Technologies) Literacy Skills

In this course we will emphasize the following:
 

  • To help you be able to demonstrate proper Keyboarding technique.
  • To develop Internet Safety awareness.
  • To help give you a basic understanding of Word Processing, Desktop Publishing, Slide Shows, Spreadsheets, Podcasts, iMovies and Web Page development.
  • To increase your overall technological literacy.


7th Grade Health – 1 Semester
 

Health and Wellness is designed to enable our students to be responsible, respectful, informed and capable when making decisions which would impact upon the well being of themselves and others.

Areas to be explored include making responsible decisions for your health; communicating effectively; goal setting; mental & emotional health; social health; building self-esteem; peer pressure; adolesence & family relationships & responsibilities; conflict resolution; preventing abuse & violence; nutrition; the use, misuse & abuse of drugs, alcohol and tobacco; and human sexuality.
